One of the most valuable things about Annual Meeting is the debate that happens on the floor. No matter what sides are taken in the debate, when we meet outside for meals etc we're able to put aside those differences and celebrate what we agree on.

I thought the way that our president ran the meeting was top notch. There was a chance with emotions running high that things could have fallen apart. I think they didn't because of the fine management of Francis. Well done - Best annual meeting ever.

Annual Meeting is the true place where we see 'Whole of Union' working together across all sectors.one voice was shown especially when the MOE visited.

I'm no veteran to Annual Meeting but I hope I am able to be!
While we need to continue to streamline the way we work to maximise the benefits for all members and use resources the best way possible, I hop it will never be at the loss of such a valuable gathering. I agree with one of the comments below which said this is the place where we see whole of union... and what a forum to debate in! Can't wait for my next opportunity!

This AM proves that meeting annually is worth it! The publicity that the support staff got was far reaching. I had friends texting me to say "Is that what you do down there" As a worksite rep this is great for recuiting. Strongertogether means working together (we already do that), supporting each other (we already do this to) but sharing visions and identifing areas of common ground and breaking down the fragmentation thoughout the sectors reguires face to face interaction with our members.
I like the idea of regional meetings too, here we could debate openly and freely our school/branch/area concerns direct from worksite reps.
What do you think?
