Unite have a campaign for $15 minimum wage that is worth supporting. Here is a link to their website: http://www.unite.org.nz/
Helen Kelly's breakfast speech was a useful reminder that we need to have a unified approach to make any progress.

Yes, without a unified approach on whatever we do, nothing will happen. If it be the campaign for $15 minimum wage, which I support fully or NZEI campaigns, we need unity. Personally I believe all unions NEED to work together to get any traction with a National government.

Hi Dave , I hope all is well for you ! Totally agree with your above comments . It is interesting in the last 12 months that it is the lower salary earners that have suffered the most . Eg - Tax cuts in April , the thresold was 45 K and with the ACC levy , this has meant a pay cut . Clearly our country has gone from a government with social core as its base to one with a business heart , although any ideas from that view are often forgotten about ( remember the job summit ideas ? ) But I take your point on a unified approach , a point I made at a recent ADC meeting , now annual meeting has come and gone , lets move forward together !
